I made my first sojourn into cyberspace in the early 90's where I experienced connecting with people who lived far far away. Over the years I have come to love, to adore, many people who live far far away. The distance between us makes visiting as often as I would like very difficult. When we do visit, the return home means several days of missing the same-space body, mind and soul presence, missing the being-together-ness.
This year, when I returned home from Winter WitchCamp, I was feeling lots of achey empty places around me. I wanted all those beloved people in my house, around my kitchen table, talking, laughing, dreaming and discussing life out loud. I wanted to make sandwiches and pies, casseroles and roasted root vegetables for everyone. I wanted to bump into eachother while we made food and hearth love.
I really do hate trading terra-space for cyber-space relations, but enclosing our conversations in a blog feels much more like home than another damned Yahoo Group. So, here is our virtual Kitchen Table. I hope we can come together here in the same spirit as we do around the kitchen tables in our homes.
